FAQ ABOUT SUNSCREENS:
Q: What is SPF?
A: SPF (Sun Protection Factor) refers to the theoretical amount of time you can stay in the sun without getting sunburned. For example, an SPF of 50 would allow you to stay in the sun 50 times longer than you could without protection.
Q: What SPF should I be using?
A: We recommend using an SPF of at least 30. SPF 15 will protect you from about 93% UVB ray, SPF 30 will protect you from about 96.7% and SPF 50 will protect you from about 98%. Anything beyond SPF 50 makes very little difference in terms of risk of sun damage, and no sunscreens offer 100% protection from UVB rays.
Q: Do I still need a moisturizer, if I am using an SPF?
A: Not necessarily! If you find that your sunscreen is hydrating enough, skip the moisturizer during the day!
Q: How often should I apply my sunscreen?
A: Reapplication is recommended for every 2 hours. This can get tricky, especially for those who are out and about all day. We recommend leaving a brush-on sunscreen in your bag for easy reapplication. SHOP OUR FAVORITE BRUSH-ON
Q: My Makeup has SPF in it, isn’t that enough?
A: Most makeups do not have an adequate amount of SPF in it. This means, you would you have to layer on as much as 15 times the amount to get the same amount of coverage as a sunscreen provides. You can absolutely wear makeup that contains sunscreen for added benefits.
